5 + .50 Multi Table Tournament at PokerRoom
I played one of these tournaments last night (they run every hour). There were around 430 entries and the top 40 positions were paid. In large tournaments my game plan is very tight, wait for a hand and try to double up. This works well for getting in position to place in the money.
However, my Big Slick ran into Pocket Rockets and I was left with 150 chips and big blind was 50. Big blind game around to me and I picked up 27 “The Hammer” with a raise in first position I was forced to fold and hang around. Small blind came and another terrible hand so I decided I wil wait for a better hand no matter how few chips I was left with.
I started my comeback with 75 chips and j8 of hearts. I tripled up plus blinds and was at 300. After a nice run of cards I managed to get to 1050 chips. From there I was able to play my normal tournament style before my Ace 8 of hearts in big blind flopped the flush draw I was forced to chase with my chipstack. It didnt hit and I was out in 98th.
Never despair after a bad beat stay smart and you always have a chance to win.
